This is the story of a woman who dared to dig, explore, and discover. This is the story of Dinosaur Lady. Mary Anning loved scouring the beach near her home in England for shells and fossils. She fearlessly climbed over crumbling cliffs and rocky peaks, searching for new specimens. One day, something caught Mary's eye. Bones. Dinosaur Bones. Mary's discoveries rocked the world of science and helped create a brand-new field of study: paleontology. But many people believed women couldn't be scientists, so Mary wasn't given the credit she deserved. Nevertheless, Mary kept looking and learning more, making discoveries that reshaped scientific beliefs about the natural world. Dinosaur Lady is a beautiful and brilliant picture book that will enlighten children about the discovery of the dinosaurs and the importance of female scientists. It also includes a timeline of Mary Anning's life and lots of fantastic fossil facts!

Book Summary:

In the late 1950s, Ted Geisel took on the challenge of creating a book using only 250 unique first-grade words, something that aspiring readers would have both the ability and the desire to read. The result was an unlikely children’s classic, The Cat in the Hat. But Geisel didn’t stop there. Using The Cat in the Hat as a template, he teamed with Helen Geisel and Phyllis Cerf to create Beginner Books, a whole new category of readers that combined research-based literacy practices with the logical insanity of Dr. Seuss. The books were an enormous success, giving the world such authors and illustrators as P. D. Eastman, Roy McKie, and Stan and Jan Berenstain, and beloved bestsellers such as Are You My Mother?; Go, Dog. Go!; Put Me in the Zoo; and Green Eggs and Ham. The story of Beginner Books—and Ted Geisel’s role as “president, policymaker, and editor” of the line for thirty years—has been told briefly in various biographies of Dr. Seuss, but I Can Read It All by Myself: The Beginner Books Story presents it in full detail for the first time. Drawn from archival research and dozens of brand-new interviews, I Can Read It All by Myself explores the origins, philosophies, and operations of Beginner Books from The Cat in the Hat in 1957 to 2019’s A Skunk in My Bunk, and reveals the often-fascinating lives of the writers and illustrators who created them.

Book Summary:

First came the time-storm, which erased half the population. Then came the dinosaur apocalypse ... How did it all begin? That depends on where you were and who you ask. In some places it started with the weather—which quickly became unstable and began behaving in impossible ways. In still others it started with the lights in the sky, which shifted and pulsed and could not be explained. Elsewhere it started with the disappearances: one here, a few there, but increasing in occurrence until fully three quarters of the population had vanished. Either way, there is one thing on which everyone agrees—it didn’t take long for the prehistoric flora and fauna to start showing up (often appearing right where someone was standing, in which case the two were fused, spliced, amalgamated). It didn’t take long for the great Time-displacement called the Flashback—which was brief but had aftershocks, like an earthquake—to change the face of the earth. Nor for the stories, some long and others short, some from before the maelstrom (and resulting societal collapse) and others after, to be recorded. Welcome to the world of the Flashback, a world in which man’s cities have become overgrown jungles and extinct animals wander the ruins. You can survive here, if you're lucky, and if you're not in the wrong place at the wrong time--which is everywhere, all the time. But what you'll never do is remain the same, for this is a world whose very purpose is to challenge you, for better or for worse. It is a world where frightened commuters will do battle with murderous bikers even as primordial monsters close in, and others will take refuge in an underground theme park only to find their worst enemy is themselves. Where ordinary people—ne’er-do-wells on a cross-country motorcycle trip, a woman on a redeye flight to Hell, a sensitive boy stricken with visions of what’s to come--will find themselves in extraordinary situations, and a gunslinger and his telekinetic ankylosaurus will embark on a dangerous quest. A world where travelers will be trapped with an unravelling President of the United States and a band of survivors will face roving packs of monsters and men in post-apocalyptic Seattle; where rioting teenagers will face deadly predators (as well as their own demons) while ransacking the nation’s capital; where a Native-American warrior will seek to bury his past--and offer an elegy for all the Earth--in what remains of Las Vegas. In short, it is a world where anything can and will happen. So take a deep dive into these loosely connected tales of the Dinosaur Apocalypse (each of which can be read individually or as a part of the greater saga): tales of wonder and terror, death and survival, blood and beauty. Do it today, before the apocalypse comes.

Book Summary:

The Adventures of Bronty the Little Dinosaur is a bedtime storybook. When I (Judy Davis) was a young child, my mother would read a story to me from one of my favorite books. She would only read one chapter at a time. I always looked forward to going to bedtime so I could find out what happened next. In the beginning, Bronty the little dinosaur was an orphan. You will follow along behind him as he journeys through his everyday life. He will be adopted by a couple of dinosaurs like himself who lost their son. He will rescue a small triceratops from a burning fire and befriend a sea turtle who has lost his way. Bronty will help a young condor bird regain his ability to fly, and hell help a young T. rex who has lost his home. He will journey to a distant land to help other dinosaurs who lost their homes. Youll laugh with him when he and his friends help their dads gather fish for a big feast. Most of all, you will see how all the dinosaurs come together to live in one place and become friends. You will see that Bronty is a very good little dinosaur who loves his parents. He treasures his home, his life, and all his friends and their loved ones. Bronty will become your friend too as you read about his adventures.

Book Summary:

“The world is a stage, life is a play, and we are the puppets. It’s better not to ask who pulls the strings.” How lucky do you feel? That question echoed through the world’s underground, scrawled on bathroom walls, spray-painted across subway tunnel exits, written on paper that fluttered through bleak side-streets in the winter wind, printed on cheap business cards tacked to corkboard displays in darkened hallways. But always beneath one name—Limbus. Matthew Sellers revealed the truth of Limbus, Inc. to the world, and in his tales of time travelers, intergalactic beings, and human sacrifice, he thought he had told it all. But the story of the shadowy employment agency that operates on the edge of the abyss, always finding the perfect person for the perfect job—no matter what the cost—had only begun. This shared-world anthology continues the story of Limbus, Inc., as told by five masters of horror, fantasy, and science fiction. But beware, for once you learn the truth of Limbus, Inc., your world will never be the same. So it's time to ask yourself . . . How lucky do you feel?

When a paleontologist is murdered, Mr. and Mrs. North go digging for his killer The office of Dr. Orpheus Preson is filled with remains, the bones of long dead dinosaurs. He waves one of them at the NYPD detective, demanding the police stop the person who’s been sending workmen to his house—an endless parade of bricklayers, butlers, French tutors, and tree surgeons, none of whom Preson hired, and all of whom expect payment. There’s nothing law enforcement can do, which means it’s time to call the only two people in New York who can help: Pamela and Jerry North. A fashionable literary couple who’s made a habit of solving mysteries between martinis, the Norths have known Dr. Preson since Jerry published his first book. The amateur detectives vow to do what they can for the perturbed paleontologist, but it’s too little too late. When Dr. Preson is found murdered, the Norths will find that the poor man had more than one kind of skeleton in his closet. Book Summary:

Kiri had a reason to be happy. He had found his first new friend at the herd. The name was Begi and they got along well. Things looked like they were about to change in his life for the better but the real adventure is just beginning. Kiri and Begi became good friends, spending lots of time together with Mia lurking around, quietly watching them. Mia was a mammal that lived on the trees, catching bugs and lizards as her prey. She lived by herself and so it was for her own survival that she became very cautious of her surroundings. She came across as a cold and aloof creature but yet Kiri had a certain fondness towards her. He hoped that she could be their friend too. However, Kiri has not yet understood the power of the living thing constantly beating inside his chest. He realized that it is in someway connected to his moods. It could fill him with joy and other times, make him anxious or restless and uncomfortable. He did not know it was something called the Heart and he did not know what it could do or what was its purpose. His compassionate Heart speaks to him directly to his head. He could hear the voice of the Heart in his head and through it, Kiri would continue to spread his love and kindness to all creatures regardless of how they look. It is no surprise that Kiri's tender Heart made him take the first step in doing something that he had never done before. Grandpa Pachy was the closest family Kiri ever had. Old and wise, grandpa Pachy watched Kiri grow and noticed the changes in Kiri, especially Kiri's physical appearance that was looking more and more like a meat-eater. This caused the other dinosaurs in the herd to grow more suspicious of Kiri. Grandpa Pachy was spiritual and always conscious of the changes happening in the world around him. He knew something about Kiri that the other dinosaurs didn't. He knew Kiri was special but he understands that being special usually comes with a bigger purpose. He was not entirely certain of that purpose and how it relates to other dinosaurs in the herd as well as in the rest of the world. So he meditates to find the answers. In the next chapters of this book, a little bit more is known about what Grandpa Pachy saw in Kiri. Also more was revealed about the evil and terrifying Genggan. Genggan and the herd had actually crossed paths in the past. Kiri would not forget his recent encounter with Genggan, the Basilisk in that underground cave. Kiri must tell Grandpa Pachy about Genggan before something bad happens. But would Grandpa Pachy and the rest of the herd believe him? Would they trust him? Doubts set in and his beating Heart beats faster everytime he thinks about it, making him anxious and uncomfortable. Finally, at the end of this book, Kiri would meet for the first time, another new species that would also play a major part in his journey towards his true calling.

"It's like a cross between Jurassic Park and Game of Thrones." —George R. R. Martin A world made by the Eight Creators on which to play out their games of passion and power, Paradise is a sprawling, diverse, often brutal place. Men and women live on Paradise as do dogs, cats, ferrets, goats, and horses. But dinosaurs predominate: wildlife, monsters, beasts of burden–and of war. Colossal plant-eaters like Brachiosaurus; terrifying meat-eaters like Allosaurus, and the most feared of all, Tyrannosaurus rex. Giant lizards swim warm seas. Birds (some with teeth) share the sky with flying reptiles that range in size from bat-sized insectivores to majestic and deadly Dragons. Thus we are plunged into Victor Milán's splendidly weird world of The Dinosaur Lords, a place that for all purposes mirrors 14th century Europe with its dynastic rivalries, religious wars, and byzantine politics...except the weapons of choice are dinosaurs. Where vast armies of dinosaur-mounted knights engage in battle. During the course of one of these epic battles, the enigmatic mercenary Dinosaur Lord Karyl Bogomirsky is defeated through betrayal and left for dead.
