Book Summary:
ÒGeometry is a very beautiful subject whose qualities of elegance, order, and certainty have exerted a powerful attraction on the human mind for many centuries. . . Algebra's importance lies in the student's future. . . as essential preparation for the serious study of science, engineering, economics, or for more advanced types of mathematics. . . The primary importance of trigonometry is not in its applications to surveying and navigation, or in making computations about triangles, but rather in the mathematical description of vibrations, rotations, and periodic phenomena of all kinds, including light, sound, alternating currents, and the orbits of the planets around the sun.Ó In this brief, clearly written book, the essentials of geometry, algebra, and trigonometry are pulled together into three complementary and convenient small packages, providing an excellent preview and review for anyone who wishes to prepare to master calculus with a minimum of misunderstanding and wasted time and effort. Students and other readers will find here all they need to pull them through.

Book Summary:
For courses in Algebra and Trigonometry. Showing why math matters Gary Rockswold doesn’t just mention realworld examples; he teaches mathematical concepts through those applications. For example, if we look at Facebook usage over time, what might that tell us about linear growth and predictions? In this way, students learn the concepts in the context of the world they know, which leads to better understanding and retention. From there, the author shows a connection between application, modeling, and visualization. Rockswold is known for presenting the concept of a function as a unifying theme, with an emphasis on the rule of four (verbal, graphical, numerical, and symbolic representations). The 6th Edition emphasizes conceptual understanding with new inchapter features and assignment options, while at the same time providing tools to empower instructors to make their classroom more active through collaboration and group work. Also available with MyLab Math MyLab™ Math is an online homework, tutorial, and assessment program designed to work with this text to engage students and improve results. Within its structured environment, students practice what they learn, test their understanding, and pursue a personalized study plan that helps them absorb course material and understand difficult concepts. The 6th Edition continues to expand the comprehensive autograded exercise options. Blitzer pulls from topics that are relevant to college students, often from pop culture and everyday life, to ensure that students will actually use their learning resources to achieve success. With an expansion of the series to now include a Developmental Math “allinone” text (with content spanning prealgebra through intermediate algebra), and with an enhanced media program accompanying this revision, developmental students at all levels will see how math applies to their daily lives and culture. Also available with MyMathLab MyMathLab® is an online homework, tutorial, and assessment program designed to work with this text to engage students and improve results. Within its structured environment, students practice what they learn, test their understanding, and pursue a personalized study plan that helps them absorb course material and understand difficult concepts. Book Summary:
This nononsense guide provides students and selflearners with a clear and readable study of trigonometry's most important ideas. Tim Hill's distractionfree approach combines decades of tutoring experience with the proven methods of his Russian math teachers. The result: learn in a few days what conventional schools stretch into months. Teaches general principles that can be applied to a wide variety of problems. Avoids the mindless and excessive routine computations that characterize conventional textbooks. Treats trigonometry as a logically coherent discipline, not as a disjointed collection of techniques. Restores proofs to their proper place to remove doubt, convey insight, and encourage precise logical thinking. Omits digressions, excessive formalities, and repetitive exercises. Covers all the trigonometry needed to take a calculus course. Includes problems (with all solutions) that extend your knowledge rather than merely reinforce it. Contents 1. A Few Basics 2. Radian Measure 3. The Trig Functions 4. Trig Values for Special Angles 5. Graphs of Trig Functions 6. The Major Formulas 7. Inverse Trig Functions 8. The Law of Cosines (and Sines) 9. Solutions 10. Trig Cheat Sheet

Book Summary:
Resume Planimetry includes metric part and trigonometry. In geometries of metric spaces from the end of XIX age their tensor forms are widely used. However the trigonometry is remained only in its scalar form in a plane. The tensor trigonometry is development of the flat scalar trigonometry from Leonard Euler classic forms into general multidimensional tensor forms with vector and scalar orthoprojections and with step by step increasing complexity and opportunities. Described in the book are fundamentals of this new mathematical subject with many initial examples of its applications. In theoretic plan, the tensor trigonometry complements naturally Analytic Geometry and Linear Algebra. In practical plan, it gives the clear instrument for solutions of various geometric and physical problems in homogeneous isotropic spaces, such as Euclidean, quasi and pseudoEuclidean ones. In these spaces, the tensor trigonometry gives very clear general laws of motions in complete forms and with polar decompositions into principal and secondary motions, their descriptive trigonometric vector models, which are applicable also to ndimensional nonEuclidean geometries in subspaces of constant radius embedded in enveloping metric spaces, and in the theory of relativity. In STR, these applications were considered till a trigonometric 4D pseudoanalog of the 3D classic theory by Frenet–Serret with absolute differentiallygeometric, kinematic and dynamic characteristics in the current points of a world line. New methods of the tensor trigonometry can be also useful in other domains of mathematics and physics. The book is intended for researchers in the fields of multidimensional spaces, analytic geometry, linear algebra with theory of matrices, nonEuclidean geometries, theory of relativity and also to all those who is interested in new knowledges and applications, given by exact sciences. It may be useful for educational purposes on this new subject in the university departments of algebra, geometry and physics. This book is an updated author’s English version of the original Russian scientific monograph “Tensor Trigonometry. Theory and Applications.” – Moscow: Publisher MIR, 2004, 336p., ISBN10: 5030037179 and ISBN13: 9785030037172.
